Dec 09, 2020 · Mushrooms are fleshy growths of fungus that are used in foods throughout the world. There are many thousands of types of mushrooms. Only a small percentage of them are poisonous, and dozens of different types of mushrooms are not only edible but are considered desirable for eating.
Truffles typically range from the size of walnuts to the size of baseballs. They are gnarly and unglamorous, unlike the elegant golden chanterelle mushrooms that festoon much of the same evergreen forest floor during earlier autumn months. While chanterelles unfold into the dappled sunlight, truffles stay hidden underground.

Apart from a few hobbyists and enthusiasts and those who pick and sell wild mushrooms for a living, we confine our mushroom hunting to the local grocery store or specialty food market. Most of us can identify a mushroom as a, well, a mushroom. Beyond that, we’re pretty much clueless as to whether it is a) safe and b) tasty to eat.
Chanterelle will elevate something as simple as meatloaf into something extraordinary. We love mushroom hunting and for many years we devoted our time to this hobby. We collect and dried only the best mushrooms. Very clean, NO WORM HOLES. Mushrooms are specially good for vegetarians, because many times you can replace meat with mushrooms.
